Gallery 4 – Freelance Graphic Design
2000 Philadelphia International Gay and Lesbian Film Festival
One of the largest gay and lesbian film festivals in the country, the work below represents a progression of a concept. It started as a destination/event concept and evolved into a modern art concept. Using a pop art classic, Claes Oldenburg's Clothespin sculpture as the centerpiece for the cover, and the metal element of the clothespin lent itself visually to the 6th annual celebration.
Programs used Photoshop, Illustrator, Quark.

Notice the IT, which originally was going to be the defining graphic

Using the map worked the destination in, however it became apparent that IT was too close to the acronym for Information technology

The event was in City Hall which lent itself visually to becoming a candle. Not the appropriate piece for a modern art concept, however using structures in the city as icon keep consistency to the design
